About Aly Workman

Aly Workman has been walking the path of meditation and Tai Chi since 2011. Her practice has been shaped by teachers such as Ram Dass, Pema Chödrön, Jack Kornfield, Joseph Goldstein, the Dalai Lama, Tara Brach, and Brené Brown, and is rooted in Vipassana and mindfulness traditions.

Over the years, her personal practice has ebbed and flowed — at times devoting two hours a day in hour-long sessions, and at other times simply returning for twenty minutes a few times a week. What has remained steady is her commitment to showing up, meeting each moment as it is.

Since 2017, Aly has deepened her practice through regular retreats, many in the Vipassana tradition, at the Southern Dharma Retreat Center (SDRC) and beyond. She has sat retreats ranging from a few days to a full month, each experience strengthening her understanding of stillness, presence, and compassion.

For several years, Aly also taught Tai Chi, blending mindful movement with contemplative practice. Within the Alabama Meditation Network (AMN), she serves on the Board of Directors as well as co-leads retreats and offers beginner meditation sessions, helping participants find ease and stability in their practice.

She is currently enrolled in the Dharmamoon 100-Hour Meditation Teacher Training, continuing to deepen her path and share the gifts of meditation with her community.
